Physiological Adaptation 3

Welcome to the third NCLEX-RN practice test on Physiological Adaptation, one of the subcategories of the Client Need, Physiological Integrity. Between 11 and 17% of your NCLEX test items will be from this section, to determine if you’re able to provide safe client care in a variety of settings. You’ll be asked about how to provide post-operative care, monitor and care for clients on a ventilator, be familiar with drainage methods and devices, perform wound and ostomy care, and participate in emergency/disaster procedures. In this practice test, there are questions about post-operative care, drainage methods, prenatal and delivery situations, and Emergency Department client cases. As in every other NCLEX category, there is a client education component. Begin this test at any time. If you leave any test before it’s finished, it will remind you where you are when you return. Read each question carefully and try to think of the answer. If you need help, click on the Hint button that’s under the fourth option to get a sentence that serves as a reminder. If you select the correct response, you’ll automatically advance to the next question. If you make a mistake, an explanation will immediately pop up to provide the rationale for the correct answer. Each time you take a practice test, the questions and options are shuffled into a different random order. These are two proven techniques that reinforce your learning.
