NCLEX-RN Practice Test for Management of Care (2024)

Reviewed by Winona Suzanne Ball, Nursing Adviser, RN | MHS, Governors State University, IL, Full member of the American Nurses Association.

Welcome to the third NCLEX-RN practice test for Management of Care. It is the largest subcategory of one of the four client needs, Safe and Effective Care Environment; the other subcategory is Safety and Infection Control. Together, these two subcategories can be up to 38% of your NCLEX. Management of Care covers a wide range of topics. It’s where you’ll find questions that ask about prioritization: “Which client should the nurse assess FIRST?” or supervision: “Which action by the UAP requires the nurse to intervene?” or informed consent: “Which of the following must be included in an informed consent?” Management of Care also includes client advocacy, continuity of care, interprofessional team collaboration, and case management. This practice test will ask you about quality improvement, chain-of-command, HIPAA, legal aspects of informed consent, and ethics. Start this test whenever you’re ready. If you leave any test before it’s completed, it will remind you where you left off when you return. Read each question carefully and try to think of the answer before looking at the options. Remember to select the BEST choice. If you’re not sure, click on the Hint button under the fourth option to get a clue. When you select the correct response, you’ll go the next question. If you make a mistake, an explanation will immediately pop up. Each time you take a practice test, the questions and options are shuffled into a different random order. These are proven techniques to reinforce your learning.
