Next Generation NCLEX: Case Studies 9-10

Nurse Plus Academy is excited to offer a new Next-Generation NCLEX (NGN) practice test to help NCLEX applicants prepare for the upcoming changes to the exam. The NGN is designed to better measure a candidate’s clinical judgment and will include innovative item types such as extended multiple response, extended drag and drop, cloze, highlight text, matrix/grid, bowtie, and trend. Our practice test will include unfolding case studies and stand-alone clinical judgment items. Each case study consists of a clinical scenario and six questions requiring candidates to make multiple decisions. The items are presented in sequential order, so candidates progress through all six steps of the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (NCJMM), which includes recognizing cues, analyzing cues, prioritizing hypotheses, generating solutions, taking actions, and evaluating outcomes. The minimum length of the NGN exam will be 85 questions, with a maximum of 150 questions, and the time allowed will remain up to five hours. The NGN will continue to be a variable-length computerized adaptive test (CAT), and candidates will receive items targeted at their own ability levels throughout the exam. Our NGN practice test will help candidates become familiar with the new format and types of test items that will be included. By practicing with our test, candidates will develop and refine their clinical judgment skills and be better prepared to pass the NCLEX-NGN and become successful nurses.
