Delusion

False belief without appropriate external evidence and inconsitent with the person's own knowledge and experiences.Most often seen in psychoses, when a person may not be able to distinguish their own unverified thoughts, fears, or feelings from reality. The most serious delusions cause people to farm themselves or others. False beliefs include being persecuted or being guilty of an unpardonable sin.
