Mental condition with a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating others' rights without remorse. Signs and symptoms include: disregard for right or wrong; persistent lying or deceiving; using charm or wit to manipulate for personal gain; recurring problems with the law and possible criminal behavior; intimidating others; failure to plan ahead; unnecessary risk-taking or dangerous behavior; and poor or abusive relationships. Also called "sociopath."
