This practice test contains several “select all that apply” (SATA) questions. Questions that require multiple choice are commonly seen in the NCLEX-RN examination and valuable for determining the patient at hand and the necessary interventions. Questions that ask you to select all that apply are a little more challenging to solve but can also be somewhat more helpful in finding the best information, allowing you to move on with your case. Questions that ask you to select all that apply may be asking you about assessments, interventions, observations, and interventions. This can be a little more complicated to answer. Promoting changes in patient behavior is more often associated with a psychosocial assessment, but this is rarely seen in questions on the NCLEX. Instead, these questions may hone in on assessments related directly to a patient’s overall physical health. In this pediatric test, you will be asked questions typical of what you would find in the actual NCLEX-RN examination. In this case, you will be asked about assessing the child, making observations, selecting the appropriate treatment to start in the hospital, and continuing once the patient is home. Practice tests are a great way to study in a structured way, but you will want to make sure that you understand how to answer questions that ask you to choose multiple answers. This can be a tricky task, but it will be up to you to decide what the correct answer is in what is often such a fluid situation.
